Vecna — born Henry Creel and later known as One or Peter Ballard — is the central antagonist of Netflix’s Stranger Things, created by the Duffer Brothers. Portrayed by Jamie Campbell Bower and Raphael Luce, he first appears in Season Four as a sinister entity from the Upside Down who torments his victims with nightmarish visions of their deepest traumas before killing them in a cruel and violent fashion. Over the course of the season, Vecna is revealed to be the ruler of the Upside Down and the mastermind behind the series’ chain of horrors, beginning with Will Byers’s disappearance in Season One.
